"The deep garnet-purple 2014 The Lodge Hill Shiraz is very fresh with a red berry and gentle herb profile, alongside some black pepper and earth. This Syrah has a nice savory/earthy palate. It is soft, approachable and long." (WA)

"Brilliant violet. Fresh cherry and blackberry aromas and flavors are complemented by suggestions of cracked pepper and woodsmoke. A violet pastille quality emerges with aeration, along with a hint of cola. Shows very good energy on a juicy, persistent finish that features gentle tannins and repeating berry character." (VM)

"This juicy, medium-bodied Shiraz is filled with mouthwatering cherry-berry fruit. Some silky tannins provide structure, but this is much more about the here and now than any sort of cellaring. The fruit persists through the finish, joined by hints of herbs and bacon. Drink now–2020." (WE)

Winery Notes:
This wine is a deep purple with intense hue. Aromatic and complex on the nose with a combi-nation of fruit and spice. Lifted aromas of cinnamon, white pepper, Cajun spices, mocha, liquorice and blackberry. The palate shows finely balanced powerhouse with immensely approachable menthol, spearmint, violets and boysenberry with soft supple tannins providing a solid foundation.

A wine that is ready for immediate enjoyment with a view to cellaring for 7 to 10 years from vintage.
