"Checking in as a blend of 40% Mourvedre, 35% Syrah and the balance Grenache, the 2014 Parvata (this is a Sanskrit word meaning rocks and stones) dishes up awesome notes of blueberries, liquid violets, barbecued meats and peppery spice to go with a full-bodied and rich yet still tight and focused style on the palate. This is a beautiful, incredibly pure GSM blend from winemaker Todd Alexander that will benefit from a year or two in bottle and keep for a decade. It's one of the best GSM blends coming out of Washington. Give it a decant if drinking anytime soon.

Led by winemaker Todd Alexander, Force Majeure has now officially moved away from their Collaboration Series releases and is focusing exclusively on their estate vineyards on Red Mountain. The lineup is stacked with incredible wines, and I expect the quality to only go up from here as their vineyards age and they fine-tune the winemaking. The 2015s were structured and tannic, and while they’ll certainly be more polished from bottle, I suspect short term cellaring will be your friend. These are great wines, and even at their prices, these represent killer values." (WA)

"Bright medium ruby. Pure aromas of cassis, blackberry, violet, menthol and black olive tapenade. Juicy and quite primary, conveying a very dark, slightly medicinal character to its densely packed black fruit and licorice flavors. Winery Notes::
Parvata means “mountain” in sanskrit, and is the name for our southern Rhône-inspired blend, grown mostly in the sandy, loamy soils of the lower section of our Red Mountain vineyard, which bring to the wine a good degree of finesse and high-toned aromatic notes, white pepper, dried herbs and grapefruit peel. Fermented after cold soak in concrete vats, it receives a gentle extraction before being barreled down to spend approximately 18 months in a small percentage of new French oak, utilizing both large format puncheons and barrels. The blend will change each year and will eventually be driven by Grenache as more of our plantings come into production. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
