"This firm red shows black cherry, plum, toast and tar notes, with light but assertive tannins that give way to a fresh and juicy finish. Drink now through 2022. 10,000 cases imported.–TM " (WS)

"I caught the 2014 Cune Crianza a couple of months before they started bottling it, but I wanted to preview it. It's a light and red fruit-driven Crianza matured in oak barrels for one year. This is the canonical blend of 85 % Tempranillo and 15% between Garnacha and Mazuelo. The wine aims for some consistency across vintages, as its drinkers do not want a lot of surprises. 2014 was a cooler year, but as the grapes took more time to ripen, perhaps they got slightly riper; it shows aromas of damsons and very ripe plums with hints of raisins. 4.5 million bottles produced in eight different lots." (WA)

"Deep ruby. Smoke-tinged cherry and floral scents show good clarity and spicy lift. Juicy and energetic on the palate, offering bitter cherry, red currant and vanilla flavors that deepen slowly and pick up a peppery element as the wine opens up. Fruit-driven and approachable, with a smooth, gently tannic finish that echoes the cherry and spice notes." (VM)

"A fresh and easy Rioja that shows plum and cherry character. Hints of cream. Mushroom, too. Medium body, low tannins and a crisp finish. Delicious now." (JS)

Winery Notes:
Aging in cask 12 moths and aging in bottle 6 moths before going to market. Carefully hand harvested, de-stalked, and short macerated, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a temperature between 26 and 28ºC to retain varietal aromas. Following alcoholic fermentation the wine was transferred to American oak casks where it remained for at least 12 months, with regular rackings to develop its finesse, before it was bottled and released.

Bright cherry colour with some violet nuances. In the nose, red berries aromas remain over the oaky and balsamic notes from its ageing in wood. It shows an elegance in the mouth, yet very lively, with some spice back notes and a very balanced acidity.
