"Savory accents of tomato leaf, Miso and forest floor add depth to an already concentrated mix of plum and dried cherry flavors. Fresh earth and spice linger against the firm tannins. Drink now through 2028. 1,779 cases made, 1,779 cases imported. -MW" (WS)

"The slightly warm 2014 Te Muna Pinot Noir offers attractive aromas of earth, mushroom and beetroot. It's medium to full-bodied, with some silky tannins and more red fruit flavors evident on the palate, like cherries, pomegranate and cranberries, which give a tart edge to the drying finish. Drink it over the next 5 years." (WA)

"Very composed, silky and elegant. Focused aromas and flavors. Notes of red cherries, toasty oak spice, chocolate and wild herbs, as well as some plum cake. Beautifully fleshy palate with a supple, bright red-cherry and blood-orange core. Silky, long and fine. Drink or hold." (JS)

Winery Notes:
The pursuit of Pinot perfection took us far from our California home base to the remote reaches of the South Pacific and the stunningly beautiful nation of New Zealand. We discovered a small and exceptional property along Te Muna Road, an especially remarkable terrace in the celebrated Pinot Noir village of Martinborough. Te Muna is Maori for ‘special’ or ‘secret place,’ and this Pinot Noir is the proudly bottled culmination of our lofty endeavor.

This 2014 vintage strikes the perfect balance between New World fruit and Burgundian character, delivering outstanding elegance, balance and complexity.
