"Supple and expressive, plush in texture but not weighty, layering blueberry and currant flavors with hints of cream and green olive. Lingers easily. Best from 2018 through 2023. 12,566 cases made. -HS" (WS)

"I found the 2013 Merlot to show classic character, yet also be a touch straightforward and boring. Currants, chocolate, licorice and some smoked earth all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, ripe, rounded, thoroughly enjoyable 2013. Made from 75% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot that spent 18 months in mostly French oak (59% new), it should drink nicely through 2025." (WA)

"Bright red-ruby. Dark berries, licorice and bitter chocolate on the nose, lifted by mint and violet notes and complicated by sexy oak tones. Sweet cherry-berry and bitter chocolate flavors are slightly dried on the end by licorice and herb elements. Well-made, nuanced Merlot but without quite the weight or depth for 90 points." (VM)

"Herb, pencil lead, plum and vanilla aromas are followed by smooth, soft blue-fruit flavors. It shows a beautiful sense of balance. -Sean P. Sullivan" (WE)

Winery Notes:
The 2013 vintage has rich concentrated aromas of cherry, raspberry and vanilla that lead into flavors of spice and chocolate. It is subtle and soft with a lingering toasted oak finish. This wine was created to enjoy now, or for many years to come as it will age gracefully.
