"A surprise, big-time sleeper for me, as I have no previous experience with this winery. The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is a dense ruby/purple, the wine shows plenty of blueberry and black raspberry fruit, cassis, licorice and incense. It hits the palate with the oak nicely disguised. The wine has beautiful texture, a full body, terrific purity and palate presence. It should drink nicely for 15-20 years, and merit serious attention. Apparently just over 550 cases were produced of this wine." (WA)

"Chappellet winemaker Phillip Corallo-Titus helps make this wine, a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon with 11% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec. While possessing a sizable tannin structure it remains balanced and elegant in cedar, pencil shavings, tart cranberry and cassis. It's rich and velvety. -Virginie Boone" (WE)

"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is an absolutely stunning wine from the duo of Ralph Hertelendy and Phillip Corallo-Titus. This blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec instantly begins to impress with gorgeous aromatics of ripe black cherries, cassis and dark plums woven together with violets, spices, graphite, damp earth and licorice nuances which all come together and burst from the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied with a gorgeous plush texture and beautifully polished tannins. This continues to impress with its outstanding structure and poise, combined with its excellent concentration and depth, as it simply dazzles through the long, supple finish. While this is already extremely appealing, it should also thrive in the cellar for many years to come." (IWR)

Winery Notes:
This bold Cabernet combines classic mountainside structure with graceful purity and sophistication. The aromas reveal dark cherry, blackcurrant, and crème de cassis, along with notes of mocha, leather, and vanilla. Rich notes of ripe, dark fruit and baking spices are layered with velvety, lush tannins and an explosive, long-lingering finish. Flirtatious nuances evolve within the textural expansiveness, culminating in a wine that displays elegance, opulence, and finesse.

One of the most sought-after wine in our portfolio, this limited-production of 533 cases represents the pinnacle of Hertelendy winemaking and embraces the elegant power and complexity. This wine is crafted by blending Cabernet Sauvignon with other classic Bordeaux varietals. The wine was aged for 22 months in 90% new French oak, which added structure and character without overpowering the natural essence of the berries. Grown on the eastern hillsides of Napa Valley, the intricacy of these vineyards was enhanced by the powerful 2013 vintage.
