Winery Notes:
Our 2012 Sta. Rita Hills (Fiddlestix Vineyard) Pinot Noir efforts continue to be refined with the combination of an extensive cold soak, gentle barrel treatment, and appropriate barrel aging. This process really allows this wine to reach its optimal expression. The 2012 offers a bit of a riper fruit character of black cherry with spice notes of clove and vanilla, and even a loamy earth and mineral qualities. This vintage provided a wine with great viscosity and tannins that are round but present in a way only Pinot Noir can offer.

Dark in color and expressive from start to finish, it appears that the 2012 has just a touch more fruit to offer than the very successful 2011. It has highlights of fresh tea leaves and floral notes. The abundant palette is soft and rich with notes of dark fruit, spice and vanilla.
