"The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino is born in a hot vintage much like the vintage that precedes it. Yet, 2012 and 2011 behave very differently and those subtle distinctions are evident here. This wine shows pretty intensity in terms of color and its rich aromatic offering. Yet, the wine is more streamlined and finessed in the mouth. The effect is elegant, albeit short in length. This Brunello is aged in large oak casks for three years." (WA)

"Good medium red. Minty, easygoing aromas of strawberry syrup, tea leaf and smoke. Dense, ripe and suave; at once rich and sappy, with fresh red berry flavors complicated by a hint of herbs and peach. Finishes tactile and long, but still a bit reduced. I'd wait to pull the cork on this esasygoing Brunello until 2021." (VM)

"Very ripe aromas of dried fruit and mushrooms with hints of bark. Full body, juicy fruit and tannins and a flavorful finish. Delicious now but better in 2020." (JS)

"Earthy aromas suggesting grilled porcini, leather, tilled soil and balsam lead the nose. The dense, chewy palate offers mature black cherry, raspberry, licorice and dried sage flavors, set against a tannic backdrop that needs time to soften. A tobacco note signals the close. Drink 2022–2032." (WE)
