"Deftly balanced, broad, rich, deep and concentrated, with a core of extracted earthy blackberry, wild berry, plum and licorice flavors. Shows impressive focus on the long and unwavering finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Drink now through 2030. 1,000 cases made.–JL " (WS)

"The 2012 Oakville Estate reveals lovely notes of crème de cassis, spring flowers, forest floor, dusty, loamy soil undertones, and a touch of licorice, medium to full body, moderate tannins and beautiful concentration. This should turn out to be a brilliant effort from Leslie Rudd, but it requires 4-5 years of cellaring. It should keep for 20-25 years." (WA)

"The 2012 Oakville Estate Red is dark, rich and sumptuous. A host of exotic cherry, plum, smoke, tobacco and licorice all meld together in an effortless, radiant wine that captures the personality of the western edge of Oakville. The Cabernet Franc is particularly expressive in 2012. Drink this sumptuous Oakville red over the next decade. In 2012 the blend is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec and 6% Petit Verdot." (VM)

Winery Notes:
Our Flagship Bordeaux Blend is the Best of the Best

Created with one hundred percent estate grown fruit, this wine is made by using the best fruit from our best Bordeaux varietal vineyards. We then blend it in such a way to make the best possible wine, a wine that truly reflects the fullest potential of our land. The 2007 is our eighth vintage from our Oakville estate and continues the Rudd tradition of producing wines with power, depth, and clarity. The wine releases a broad spectrum of aromas, combining dark blue fruits such as black currant and dark berry, with sweet charcoal, scorched earth and cedar. The palate shows structure and acidity followed by layers of velvety tannins with dark berries, chocolate, and deep roasted coffee. This wine is meant to be aged, but is still approachable enough to be enjoyed now.
