Winery Notes:
Our 2011 Taft Street Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc is vibrant and pure, with a fine stoney edge framing lemon and herb notes. There is a juicy, mouthwatering intensity that lingers through the superfresh finish.

VINIFICATION
The wine was fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and was not inoculated for malolactic fermentation. In order to maintain the high fruit profile the wine was not aged in oak.

VINEYARD LOCATION
The grapes from this wine come from two well known Russian River Valley vineyards. Bob Dempel’s vineyard is just south of Healdsburg in the northern part of the Russian River appellation. Vino Farms is located a mile or so south, along Eastside Road.

VINTAGE CONDITIONS
The 2011 growing season was another wacky one. A wet spring was followed by a long, cool summer. The result was a delayed bud break and a reduced crop – anywhere from 10% - 30% in the Russian River Valley. Good weather allowed the majority of the harvest to take place in September, before the rains came. Despite such conditions, many excellent wines were produced, including this one.
