"Smoky and meaty notes frame plum and currant flavors in this generous red, which is balanced and lively, broad-textured but lightfooted, with gentle tannins and bright orange-peel acidity. Drink now through 2021. 200 cases imported.–TM " (WS)

"Bright ruby. Ripe cherry and black currant scents are complemented by suggestions of pipe tobacco, mocha and candied flowers. Plush, round and sweet in style, offering ripe dark fruit flavors and a suggestion of vanilla. Pliant tannins provide shape to the finish, which leaves suggestions of fruitcake and mocha behind. This rich wine could handle the most full-flavored red meat preparations." (VM)

"Gritty, herbal berry aromas smell much like asphalt. Following the nose, this is tight and raw in feel. Burnt, herbal, gritty plum flavors finish clipped and drawing, with pinching tannins and dark spice notes." (WE)

Winery Notes:
Manual harvest from a selection of our estate vineyards. After desteming, the grapes were fermented in 12,300 liters stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 82 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Total maceration time was between 15 to 20 days. The wine was placed into a mix of used French and American oak. Racking was done every 6 months. After two years in barrel, the wine was bottled and spent another two years in our underground cellars.

Deep red garnet. Intense nose of red fruits, some smoke, gloves, medium to full body palate, fresh, with a spiced finish. Well balanced, fine, very fresh, juicy.
