"Firm and focused, with an aroma of savory herbs and flavors of dried red fruits that show salt and white pepper accents. Grenache, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Drink now. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 9,900 cases imported." (WS)

"(a blend of cabernet sauvignon, grenache and cinsault): Light, bright peach skin color. Lively, mineral-accented aromas of orange zest, strawberry and honeysuckle, along with a hint of herbs. Nervy and refreshingly brisk on the palate, offering pure red berry and citrus flavors underscored by a chalky quality. Finishes dry and clean, with strong cut and lingering florality. I really like this wine's balance and focus." (IWC)

Winery Notes:
Château de Selle is located in the Côtes de Provence appellation perched on chalky hills enjoying generous amounts of sunshine. The proportion of stone in the soil is 40 percent to 50 percent, making it an arid soil, which, despite the presence of small yet highly fertile quantities of clay, produces small yields. Château de Selle has an area of 140 hectares, of which 64 hectares are planted. Year after year, the cultivated area of the estate wins over part of the rocky terrain. The earth is mechanically tilled while retaining a natural balance, the original proportion of stone being maintained after crushing. The crushing process is carried out on a yearly basis.

Tasting Notes
The wine has a fine pale peach color with crystalline shimmers of pink-gold. The expressive, fine, delicate nose gives off aromas of peach, citrus fruit and white flowers such as hawthorn. A rich and full-bodied structure follows a lively and firm attack. There is a subtle balance of aromas between hints of fresh fruit (apricot and nectarine) and the smooth, floral notes of lilac. The finish is full-bodied and smooth enhanced by mild spices. This elegant and harmonious wine can be an aperitif or accompany Provençale cuisine.

The Château de Selle Côtes de Provence rosé has a pale orange rosé color that reveals the complex aromas of careful ageing on the lees. A clear nose, both delicate and exquisite, blends with notes of citrus fruit, mint and lilies. The harmonious, fleshy taste calls to mind a juicy peach, whilst still retaining an intense citrus fruit aftertaste.

Additional Information
The following grapes are used in making this rosé: 40% Grenache, which adds warmth to the wine; 40% Cinsault, which adds finesse and fullness; 14% Syrah, which is added in small quantities to round off the wine and give color and a touch of licorice; 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, which adds complexity, blending elegance and vigor.

The grapes are all hand picked and go through a stringent selective grape sorting. The grapes go through an extremely delicate pressing process. Fermentation is done in thermo-regulated vats followed by ageing in oak casks for six to nine months. The wine is bottled in the spring.
