"Dark and winey, with lots of crushed plum, anise and black currant nicely melded with dark tobacco and cocoa notes. This has some toast to soak up, but there's ample flesh." (WS)

"Subtle hints of olives intermixed with black currants, cherries and spicy oak are present in this medium-bodied, well-made effort. While good, it is not one of the stars of the vintage." (WA)

"Purple-ruby. Red cherry, raspberry and spices on the clean, fresh nose; no sign of overripeness here. Bright and fresh on the entry as well, displaying plenty of energy and a firm mineral edge to its red fruit, tobacco and oak flavors. A good showing for La Louviere: as is often the case, this wine is less concentrated than most of its neighbors, but in 2010 its juicy fruit, admirable balance and mouthwatering freshness are worthy of special note. Very well done." (IWC)

"Smoke, blackberry and fresh herb aromas pair with round textures that conclude with a licorice, black cherry and earthy wine that should drink well early and offer a lot of bang for the buck." (JL)
