"Offers a density and lushness that belies the appellation, with a full, polished structure and deep plum, blackberry paste and steeped black cherry fruit flavors. The long, anise-filled finish is seamless and fully integrated. This has some amped-up weight for now, but the purity is clearly there. Best from 2014 through 2020. –JM " (WS)

"The 2010 La Fleur du Bouard (80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon) is bottled unfined and unfiltered and hit 14.5% natural alcohol. The wine offers up notes of black raspberry and blueberry pie intermixed with incense, lead pencil shavings and plenty of underlying floral notes. Some background oak is also present. The wine is medium to full-bodied, beautifully pure, voluptuously textured, rich, long and hedonistic and satisfying. Drink it over the next 10+ years. The other cuvee, a limited production wine, can be absolutely magnificent with some bottle age, as the 2000 is certainly proving to be. The standard of excellence for Lalande de Pomerol is Hubert de Bouard’s 50-acre property, over half of it located on the highly prized Neac plateau, which consists of clay, sand and gravel sub-soils." (WA)

"Bright, dark red. Musky black raspberry and bitter chocolate on the primary, slightly reduced nose. A supple, moderately ripe midweight, with berry, mineral and herbal flavors showing good but not outstanding depth. Finishes with a lightly green quality and good persistence." (VM)

"Pretty earthy. Dark berries and flowers on the nose follow through to a full body, with fine tannins and a bright and fresh finish. Lots of citrus fruit on the finish with dark fruits. Try in 2017." (JS)

"Silky, fresh, round dark cherries, structure and tannin to age and layers of fresh black cherries are found in this wine." (JL)

Winery Notes:
Château La Fleur de Boüard represents the brilliant harvest that resulted from the seed planted by the de Boüard family in this vineyard in 1998. Benefitting from the inventive know-how of Hubert, Coralie and Matthieu de Boüard, supported by their technical director Philippe Nunes, Château La Fleur de Boüard has flourished and become the flagship of the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation.

Blended with 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, the fruit from each individual plot is vinified separately using gravity alone in small truncated cone-shaped tanks. The wine is then aged in oak for 18 to 24 months in barrels, of which 75% are new.
