"Dark red. Red fruits, herbs and minerals on the nose. Fresh red berry flavors are lifted by tangy acidity but could be a bit more filled-in. Offers good brightness and clarity on the firm, slightly dry-edged finish." (IWC)

"A reserved nose features both red and dark berry fruit trimmed in subtle earth notes. The round and supple middle weight flavors possess good punch and detail before culminating in an agreeably dry, clean and balanced finish that displays no sweetness." (BH)

"Fogarty’s basic Pinot Noir is very good, although it’s not a wine for aging. With its soft dryness and rich tannins, it shows polished flavors of cherries, cola, herbs, cinnamon spice and subtle oak." (WE)

Winery Notes:
A very strong showing for the 2009 vintage, our Santa Cruz Mountains bottling is com- plex and balanced with great character. Forest floor and spice notes accent pure cranberry and red plum fruit on the nose. there is a great yin and yang between the structure of the tannins and the suave middle- the spice seems to drive the struc- ture, while the fruit powers the mid-palate. the finish is quite long with a hint of barrel spice. this wine is drinking well in its youth, but should age effortlessly for 5-7 years.
