LAST CALL!!....BEST EVER!!

"Weaves together an engaging mix of tropical fruit flavors, with guava, nectarine, pineapple and citrus, giving this a fresh, lively presence on the palate, with the acidity sustaining the flavors. Drink now through 2015. 15,943 cases made." (WS)

"Bright gold. Smoky, lees-accented aromas of pear, melon and white flowers, with building spiciness. A juicy, palate-caressing midweight, with good depth and energy to its orchard fruit and candied citrus flavors. The spicy note comes back on the delineated, persistent finish." (IWC)

"Talbott's lesser-priced version of Sleepy Hollow Chardonnay is a clean, keenly fruited, nicely made wine that shows a lighter hand than its slightly richer, more extracted mate. That said, it is very well-focused with good depth and a nice bit of extension, and it wins easy endorsement for its balance and its sheer drinkability. Reviewed: January 2012" (CG)

"A sort of advance peek at the Chardonnay that, in a year or so, will bear the Sleepy Hollow designation. It should be an amazingly rich wine, as even this junior version is. Dry, crisp and oaky, it explodes with pineapple, mango, apricot and buttered toast flavors." (WE)

Winery Notes:
Our 2009 Talbott Chardonnay, Logan was made using 100% estate-grown grapes from our Sleepy Hollow Vineyard in Monterey County. Sleepy Hollow is widely regarded as one of California’s grand cru vineyards. This hillside vineyard is located 13 miles south of Monterey Bay, in the northern part of the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA. It features numerous vineyard blocks with various soil types, vine ages and clonal selections. Fruit for Talbott Chardonnay, Logan comes from several prized sections of the vineyard, and includes grapes from older Wente clone vines and Dijon (95 and 76) clone vines. Vine ages range from 15-40 years old, with average yields of 3.0 tons per acre.

TASTING NOTES
This vintage of Talbott Chardonnay, Logan has beautifully balanced fruit and oak, a lush texture and well-integrated acidity. The color is medium-straw with great clarity. On the palate, there are layers of ripe apple, pear and pineapple. There are also notes of vanilla and rich toasty oak that lead to a long finish. We recommend drinking this wine now through 2013.
