NEW RELEASE AND MAYBE BEST EVER!!

"You get a lot of pleasure from this affordable Cab. It’s dry, moderate in alcohol which gives it a light mouthfeel, and quite pleasant in classic flavors of blackberries, currants and herbs, touched with smoky oak. Elegantly constructed, it’s one of the best Cabernets of the vintage at this price." (WE)

Winery Notes:
The 2009 Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon offers up-front aromas of ripe red fruit, followed by similar vibrant and rich berry flavors. Silky but firm tannins lend excellent structure, while maintaining a soft approachability reflective of Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine has a ripe finish with good length. Its fruit-driven style lends ease to food-pairing.

HARVEST NOTES
The 2009 growing season in Paso Robles began dry and cool, with relatively little rainfall in early spring months. Early bud break in March, followed by tricky frost events in April led to steady warm temperatures starting in May and June. Consistent warm summer weather, with only one heat spike in June, led to a near-record crop for both size and quality. By dropping fruit and employing rigorous canopy management, our vineyards achieved balanced yields that show elegance and power. The majority of our Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested prior to the mid-October rain in Paso Robles.

WINEMAKING NOTES
Our Cabernet Sauvignon is harvested and fermented individually by vineyard lots and then barreled into a combination of French and American oak barrels, 10% of which are new. Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon is aged 12 months. The wine is racked twice during barrel-aging and gently filtered just prior to bottling.

TASTING NOTES
The 2009 Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of black cherry, plum and violets, followed by subtle flavors of red berries and cedar on the mid-palate. Firm yet supple tannins finish off this approachable, fruit-driven Cabernet Sauvignon, making it ideal for a variety of food pairings.
