"($24; a blend of 51% grenache, 39% mourvedre and 10% cinsaut) Full medium orange. Musky mineral and soft citrus aromas. Silky in texture but with solid underlying structure for rose. Broad, rich and complex; this is almost made like a red wine (I might have picked it as Cote de Provence). Finishes broad and clean, with lovely building length. There are plenty of skin phenolics that will protect this wine against oxidation, notes winemaker Chris Peterson, but the finish is not particularly tannic." (IWC)

Winery Notes:
Our second vintage of the Doyenne Rosé is another success. Showing a nose of fresh strawberries, marionberries, strawberry leaf, cherry blossom and candied orange peel, this wine smells like summer in a glass. On the palate, it expresses blackberries and earthy tones indicating the influence of Mourvèdre. The red berries and a slight note of fresh tarragon hint at the Grenache, along with a pleasant juiciness suggesting Cinsault. The mouthfeel is silky and full-bodied, reinforcing the high quality of fruit blended to create this refreshing Rosé. We think this is an outstanding wine to pair with all manner of foods you may enjoy during the summer months and beyond.
