"A lively, peppery, mineral-driven style, with a strong iron note running through the core of crushed plum and blackberry. Features a lingering white pepper edge on the slightly dusty finish. Best from 2013 through 2020." (WS)

"While it is a beauty, it is eclipsed by the 2009 Crozes-Hermitage Le Clos, which is a limited production offering that is only produced in top vintages. Aged 100% in small French oak, it exhibits a striking minerality as well as copious notes of cassis, acacia flowers, licorice, herbs and spice. Combining power, intensity and elegance, this full-bodied 2009 should drink well for 12-15+ years.

Under the inspired leadership of winemaker/administrator Jacques Grange, who has carte blanche authority from the proprietors, the Louis Roederer/Deutz Champagne firm, Delas has been on a fabulous qualitative roll for over a decade. They have enjoyed some great successes, so it is hard to say 2009 may be the magnum opus of Jacques Grange, but it certainly looks fabulous." (WA)

"Vivid ruby. Intense cherry, redcurrant and licorice aromas are lifted by an alluring potpourri element. A scented, mineral-driven midweight that offers assertive, attractively sweet flavors of red and dark berries and candied flowers. Finishes sweet and very long, with impressive nuance to its floral and spice elements. This vineyard is on granite, in the northern Chassis sector of the appellation." (IWC)
