"Ripe and focused, this is dense with juicy blackberry, currant and floral flavors, dancing with refinement as the finish lingers expressively. Shows intensity and grace, with the tannins absorbed smoothly. Drink now through 2019. 545 cases made." (WS)

"The 2009 Pinot Noir Arcus Estate is a bit reticent aromatically but with swirling reveals enticing aromas of sandalwood, exotic spices, incense, and assorted red and black fruits. In the glass it presents plenty of succulent fruit, a velvety texture, and outstanding depth and concentration for the vintage. This lengthy effort has the structure to evolve for 1-2 years and should drink well through 2021+.

Veteran winemaker Anna Matzinger appears to have maximized what nature provided in the warm 2009 vintage. She describes it as “a friendly vintage with lots of sunshine in the glass”." (WA)

"Ruby-red. A heady, complex bouquet evokes candied dark berries, incense and lavender, along with suave vanilla and Asian spice qualities. Lush and seamless on the palate, offering open-knit black raspberry and cherry-cola flavors braced by tangy acidity. Closes on an intensely floral note, with excellent focus, energy and persistence." (IWC)

"Spicy, fruity and extremely youthful, this complex wine brings black cherry and cassis flavors with subtle notes of cola, licorice, allspice, sandalwood and pine needle. Still quite tight and primary, it has been beautifully sculpted into a focused wine with a long life ahead." (WE)

Winery Notes:
This wine is perfumed and poignant; expressive in its floral qualities of violets and crushed rose petals, expansive in its character of black cherry, blue fruits, white peach, cocoa powder and marzipan. The palate is layered and lavish with a juicy succulence and notes of vanilla and nougat, chocolate and rosehips surrounding a vibrant cherry core. Refined and deeply appealing this wine shows great character now but if one is patient, more shall be revealed.
