Winery Notes:
Our 2008 Russian River Pinot Noir is produced from a careful selection of pinot noir Dijon clones grown near the banks of the Russian River. The vines are located on well drained, gravelly sites less than one mile from the river the "middle reach" of the appellation. This area experiences the full impact of cooling fog which travels up the rivers banks. During fermentation, we punch down the cap by hand several times each day to gently extract the grapes flavors and aromas. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, of which about 35% is new.

This wine has a deep, rich cranberry color and displays aromas of sweet, Ranier cherries, raspberry and smokey, toasted oak. The flavors are full and rich, with cherry fruit and oak being the dominating themes. It is medium bodied, with refreshing, tangyflavors and tannins, which are fine grained, soft and rich, with a finish that is long and flavorful. Its rich array of flavors and aromas will age gracefully and become more complex over the next several years - if you can wait that long! A superb accompaniment to a variety of dishes from salmon to grilled pork chops.
