"Broad, smooth and focused, with Earl Grey tea overtones to the raspberry and cherry flavors. Shows density, drive and deftness on the finish. Drink now through 2018. 10,000 cases made." (WS)

"This is a great example of what the Barossa Valley can deliver at an affordable price. The alcohol is high, but well buffered by an ample raspberry flavor. Despite the prevalence of raspberry and vanilla notes, it’s not excessively confected or fruity, since it’s grounded in savory, earthy notes. Drink now–2020. — J.C. (2/1/2013)" (WE)

Winery Notes:
The 2008 Shiraz may be considered one of the best ever vintages of the five 3 Rings Shiraz vintages produced. The wine, deep red with a deep garnet hue, is full-bodied, showing lifted black currants, ripe plum, mint, caraway seeds and integrated oak on the nose. The palate is a labyrinth of ripe plums, black cherries, dark chocolate and ground coffee, with rustic overtones of cigar box and leather. The fruity complexity is finished with seamlessly layered tannic structure that is balanced with natural defining acids. This wine will drink well for more than ten years.
