80% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot, UNDER-PRICED PASTA OR PIZZA WINE!

Vineyards location: Surroundin"Violet, blueberry and mint on the nose. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a minty, woody and fruity aftertaste. A little austere. Best after 2010. 2,500 cases made."(WS)

"The 2007 Rosso Toscano shows more plumpness and depth than the 2008, along with a darker profile of wild cherries, herbs, leather and licorice. A plush, polished close rounds things out in style. There is plenty of 2007 vintage character here. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2013."(WA)

"($14; 90% sangiovese with 10% colorino, malvasia nera and canaiolo nero; 14% alcohol) Medium ruby. Fresh, uncomplicated nose redolent of redcurrant and red cherry. The palate offers more red cherry and raspberry, with youthfully chewy, almost chalky tannins that beg for food. A simple but well-made wine that will pick up flesh and volume with food."(IWC)
