"The 2006 Chardonnay “Bin 311” was raised in older oak and went through malolactic fermentation. It exhibits an enticing aromatic array of mineral, green apple, and white peach. This is followed by a crisp, Chablis-like Chardonnay emphasizing pure, vibrant fruit. It is supple-textured and has a long, refreshing finish. Drink it over the next 3-4 years." (WA)

"Spotlessly made, this is a fine, tangy but just fractionally soulless chardonnay. Scented with ripe (but not overly so) aromas of lime, cumquat, melon, restrained vanilla oak and nuances of mineral, it also reveals some pleasing floral aspects. Unusually concentrated, it’s long and smooth, presenting penetrative flavours of melon, pineapple and citrus sensitively backed by oak and punctuated by refreshingly brittle acids that resemble lemon sherbet and mineral. It finishes tight and clean, with a slightly overdone hint of butterscotch. (Tumbarumba, $18 retail, approx., 17.1/90, drink 2008-2011+)" (JO)
