"Lively lime, mâche and sel gris flavors crackle from start to finish in this tasty white, with an herb twinge lingering. Drink now. 1,200 cases imported. -J.M." (WS)

"From dry, bush-farmed vines and with no wood contact, the 2015 Groenekloof Sauvignon Blanc was picked a little ripe to reduce any pyrazine elements. It still has fresh gooseberry and nettle scents, with just a touch of asparagus in the background. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry. This is nicely balanced, vivacious and citrus-fresh with a taut, almost steely finish that begs another sip. This is a well crafted Sauvignon Blanc. " (WA)

"Bright light yellow. Distinctly herbaceous asparagus scent along with lemon and grapefruit peel notes. Quite dry and uncompromising on the palate but with the textural richness of the vintage and lovely subtle intensity. A bit less herbaceous in the mouth than on the nose but not by much. Strong, bracing, lemony acidity gives the wine refreshment value and cut and carries its finish. In a distinctly uncompromising style, and much more serious than the Sincerely bottling." (VM)

Winery Notes:
Groenekloof is situated near Darling on the West Coast and consist of a series of hills running parallel to the ocean. This region is particularly well-suited for producing outstanding Sauvignon blanc. With fairly consistent weather, cold breezes from the Southern Atlantic Ocean and cool prevailing southwesterly winds, the grapes in the Groenekloof ward are ensured a long, ripening period for maximum aroma development. The deep, red, decomposed granite has a good water holding capacity which is suitable for dryland cultivation. All the vineyards are bush vines that lead to a great complexity and fuit intensity in the wines as the bunches on the vine are all exposed to different conditions. Situated only 8km from the cold Atlantic Ocean, our Groenekloof vineyards rise to 350 metres above sea level.
