About the Winery:
At the foot of the majestic Schlossberg hill in Alsace stands one of the finest estates in all of France. In the words of Robert Parker, “Colette and her daughter Laurence...pushed Weinbach to the pinnacle of Alsace’s qualitative pyramid.” Now run by daughter Catherine Faller, she and her team have pursued the family’s passion for the great wines of Alsace and its unrelenting commitment to delivering excellence.

Vintage Condition:
The 2015 vintage was outstanding at Domaine Weinbach. The quality of the grapes was excellent for all varietals. With medium to low yields, 2015 produced concentrated and harmonious wines, which are already very expressive in their youth due to a good maturity and great balance. The wines of the 2015 vintage have pure fruit aromas with a beautiful freshness and long-lasting finish. They will age beautifully.

About the Wine:
Riesling is the king of Alsatian wine and the love of the Faller family. The grapes used in the Réserve Personnelle come from younger vines planted in the estate vineyard, Clos des Capuchins. The resulting wine is dry, racy, and penetrating, with delicate fruit and a bouquet of great finesse.

Tasting Note:
Eau de Vie is present on the nose and palate with super ripe fruit for this cuvée. Also on the palate, there are notes of butternut squash along with a bit of sweet peanut. It tastes sweet but finishes dry with some spicy black pepper elements also. This is very mineral, and there is much refreshing fruit, but along with the freshness there is quite a bit of thick texture and powerful fruit on the finish.

Food Pairing:
This wine is a prime partner for fish and seafood and has the acidity to cut through cream sauces.
