"A minerally white, with a floral overtone and flavors of green pear, lemon zest, glazed apricot and spice, backed by bright acidity. Lively finish. Drink now through 2017. 13,333 cases made.–AN " (WS)

"Pale yellow. Rich aromas of apple, herbs and flint. Very fresh and saline, showing a juicy mouthfeel and sneaky concentration to its stone fruit and herb flavors. Finishes with noteworthy persistence." (VM)

A MOST APPEALING, REFRESHING, ITALIAN WHITE FOR ONLY $15.95 2014 FIANO di AVELLINO, Est. Btld. TERREDORA DIPAOLO

This 2014 Fiano di Aveliono is a truly delightful, quite dry, but scintillating Italian white with charm and an especially refreshing clean appealing acid level that helps makes the wine such a nice addition to a meal of sea food, roast pork, chicken and veal. The wine also has a clean as a whistle Macintosh Apple character and touches of white/green plums, pears and slight herbal overtones to basil and rosemary. A wine to enjoy now and during the next couple of years.

In decades past the prestigious Fiano de Avellino grape was known for its high sugar content and, many a semi-sweet still and sparkling wine was produced using it. However, as tastes change and technology widened, years of experimentation have enabled many leading winemakers to produce a noticeable high quality DRY Fiano, resulting in a wine of remarkable elegance and refinement (especially considering its modest discounted price of $15.95); and a wine with a noted reputation for its intense crisp apple like aroma and its harmonious flavors.

Winery Notes:
Medium gold with subtle notes of mature fruit and flowers with hints of pear, apricot, citrus fruits, toasted hazelnuts, acacia, hawthorn and honey. It is persistent and aromatic and will reward a few years’ cellaring. Ideal as an aperitif with oysters, seafood salad, shellfish and haute cuisine fish dishes.
