"Rich and plump, with dark plum and smoky sage aromas, layered with lively flavors of black raspberry, licorice and cracked pepper. A style some will love. Drink now through 2025. 743 cases made. –TF " (WS)

"Bright ruby. Highly perfumed scents of red berry preserves and potpourri carry woodsmoke and Asian spice overtones. Fleshy and expansive on the palate, offering weighty raspberry and boysenberry flavors that become spicier with aeration. This rich yet lively Grenache finishes with powerful thrust, supple tannins and lingering sweetness." (VM)

"Full of the lushness that comes with this brand in all forms, this bottling shows vanilla cake, toasty oak, red fruit, abundant baking spice, molasses and a touch of freshly shaved pork roast. The palate is heavy duty with similar flavors and even some fudge, which albeit delicious, hides much of the grape's varietal beauty." (WE)

Winery Notes:
The 2013 Grenache is comprised of three Grenache clones; Tablas Creek Vine Selection #2, 362, 814 (Spain). The grapes were hand-picked and fermented separately by vineyard block in five-ton, open-top tanks. After daily pump-overs (for color and tannin extraction) for 10 days, the wines were aged for 10 months in a mix of new and used French oak barrels. The Grenache was racked once in the spring of 2014, and once more just prior to bottling in January 2015.
