"A dense, juicy red, with chalky tannins cloaked in sappy black cherry, dried thyme, marjoram, fig and bresaola notes. Burly, featuring spice and tar accents on the finish. Best from 2019 through 2014. 1,900 cases made. –AN " (WS)

"Deep ruby. Clean, very pure aromas and flavors of red cherry, aromatic herbs and spices. Then more herbal in the mouth, displaying an almost austere quality and very tannic on the medium-long finish. This fruit-challenged wine comes across as a little tough and unyielding. " (VM)

Winery Notes:
This is not Sagrantino’s younger brother; it is a flavorful and age worthy wine in its own right, with great dignity and much potential. The fusion of traditional grapes, Sangiovese and Sagrantino - along with the precious input of Barbera, ensure this wine has the makings of a future Montefalco classic.
