"Donatella Cinelli Colombini's 2012 Brunello di Montalcino has absorbed more of the summer heat (compared to the Prime Donne selection). The wine shows a round and supple personality with ripe cherry, blackberry preserves and dark spice. The bouquet is more approachable and immediately appealing. This is a fantastic wine to eat in the near term. I can't help but think of how good it would taste across from one of those juicy, boutique burgers you find at the best restaurants. The mouthfeel is soft and creamy with integrated tannins from both the fruit and the oak used." (WA)

"Bright red. Perfumed red berries, licorice and violet on the nose. Bright and juicy, with sweet and sour nuances to the bright red berry and herbal flavors. Finishes long and vibrant; no blockbuster, but plenty of charm." (VM)

"A fresh and aromatic Brunello with orange blossom and cherry and flower character. Medium to full body, firm and chewy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Better in 2020." (JS)

"Fragrant blue flower, spiced plum, new leather and Mediterranean herb aromas meld together. The elegant almost ethereal palate offers succulent red cherry, crushed raspberry, star anise and a hint of nutmeg framed in supple polished tannins. Drink through 2022." (WE)

Winery Notes:
Very intense ruby-red. Complex, full, persistent nose rich in spices with hints of vanilla and nuances of ripe berries. Elegant and harmonious palate with good tannins and long finish.
