"Quite perfumy at first, with lilac, damson plum and singed bay leaf notes up front, followed by darker yet still caressing steeped black cherry, worn leather and espresso notes on the back end. Best from 2013 through 2023. 12,500 cases made. –JM" (WS)

"A seductive, opulent, textured Margaux with notes of licorice, black fruits, asphalt, pen ink and truffle, this is one of the finest du Tertres ever made. It has a hedonistic quality to it, but at the same time, there is great class, precision and freshness to this full-bodied, concentrated, but very supple-textured wine. Drink it over the next 20+ years." (WA)

"Bright ruby-red. Cassis, red plum, tobacco leaf, minerals and spices on the nose, lifted by a floral topnote. Silky, suave and elegantly styled; not a particularly opulent wine but nicely polished and balanced, and already offering a lovely perfumed character. Finishes firmly tannic, spicy and long, with harmonious acidity contributing to the impression of class. A terrific vintage for this property." (VM)

"Plenty of sweet tobacco with plum and berry character that follows through to a full body, with super polished tannins. Silky and stylish. Lovely chocolate, toasted oak and coffee too. Gorgeous balance. Best in 2016." (JS)

"A wine that continues the impressive rise of du Tertre. It is becoming one of the sure values of Margaux, and this 2009 is both ripe and finely balanced. The acidity boosts the rich fruits, sweet tannins and the warm finish." (WE)

"Truffle, stone, espresso, blackberry, chocolate and menthol in the nose. Sweet, supple and filled with plush ripe, blackberry and plums, this is showing better than when it was tasted earlier this year with the UGC. 92 points - Tasted May 11, 2012" (JL)
